This will be different for everyone. The minimum requirements take typically 10-15 hours per month. (This does not include practicing yoga nidra and other rest and embodiment practices).

This training is for anyone who wants to teach a revolutionary approach to leadership that puts rest at the center. It's ideal for if you want to teach yoga nidra, or are already a yoga nidra teacher, but want a unique feminine approach to rest.
This training is also for coaches, therapists and wellness professionals, meditation/mindfulness teachers, and yoga teachers looking to bring more rest into your work.
If you're none of these, but have a deep desire to participate for the advanced teachings and personal transformation, you are most welcome too. Many women take the training not knowing why - they simply feel called.
-
We strongly encourage women already trained in yoga nidra to join us. All yoga nidra trainings give a different perspective, and we expect ours will too. Taking more than one training helps you find clarity in your core voice as it relates to yoga nidra. Daring to Rest is different from most other yoga nidra teacher trainings because we are more a feminine leadership training that includes yoga nidra as a core teaching. We teach you the history of yoga nidra, and have a deep respect for its roots, but this training is not yoga-focused. It’s more leadership and empowerment focused.
You'll benefit from learning a method that's based on a book that you can use immediately to diversify your offerings and expand your reach. Also, when you join us, you'll be a part of a life-long community of women who are passionate about bringing deep rest into their lives and sharing rest with humanity. You'll receive personal and professional development to support your evolution as a teacher and as a woman.
-
All training materials are downloadable and you will have access to our portal for a total of 18 months.
-
After completing the certification requirements you can call yourself a Certified Daring to Rest Facilitator.
-
You can receive CEUs with Yoga Alliance for a 100 hour training.
We are also happy to fill out any paperwork for other CEUs you may need.
-
There is no extra cost to certify. If you want to certify, you will have to fullfill the following requirements:
Read the book “Daring to Rest: Reclaim Your Power with Yoga Nidra Rest Meditation” by Karen Brody and read three other books. Write two 1-page book reports of your choice from the required books
Complete short online quizzes on monthly content
Submit 1 yoga nidra recording and script
Practicum: teach 3 yoga nidra sessions and submit reflections
Create an outline for one rest program
Write your heroine’s journey story
You have until mid-January 2024 to certify. Certification is not guaranteed. It is determined based on our assessment of your readiness.
-
No experience is necessary! Although we do suggest you have spent at least a few weeks practicing yoga nidra, and specifically Daring to Rest yoga nidra, to make sure you feel this practice is right for you.
-
We are post-lineage. Daring to Rest is an approach to leadership that puts rest at the center. While we teach you yoga nidra, and honor the history of yoga nidra, the training focuses more on rest as it relates to empowerment and leadership development.
Karen Brody, the founder of Daring to Rest, is trained in iRest level 2 and certified in the Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra.
-
At Daring to Rest, we're continuing to learn and evolve in our definition of 'woman.' Right now, anyone who identifies as a woman is most suited for this training. You’re comfortable with language that references women's bodies and women's lives.
Check in with us if you feel called to take this program and you're not sure you'll feel comfortable.
-
We get it - professional trainings are an investment. We have a 12-month payment plan option available until December 1st to help lower the immediate financial pressure. We also offer sliding scale scholarships. (See below). If you feel a YES in your heart to join the Daring to Rest Facilitator Training Program, then ask yourself: will the financial commitment provide too much stress on myself and/or my family? We encourage being bold and taking a leap of faith, but we don't encourage not being able to pay your monthly expenses.
-
Yes. We offer partial scholarships primarily for women working with traditionally underserved communities, and women who are people of color, disabled, and LGBTQ. The scholarship application deadline was December 1st. It is now closed. If you applied, you will hear from us by Dec 15th.
-
No. While we train women, there are women who take this training and work with people of all genders and ages. Every Daring to Rest program can be tailored to men, children or non-binary.
-
There are no additional costs for our facilitator training other than a blanket, pillow, Karen's book, “Daring to Rest: Reclaim Your Power with Yoga Nidra Rest Meditation” and a few other required books. We do provide a reading list to complement the training, but do not require you purchase these books.
-
Maybe. Most women who take this training want to teach, but some love the topic so much that they want to take this training for the advanced teachings and personal transformation. There’s no requirement to teach. First rest, then teach when or if you want to.
-
Right now, we think this training will only be offered once in 2023.
