A 5 month online certification program for women who want to share the power of rest, weave it into your work, and step into your own rest leadership

Welcome, Rest Sister.

We are living in a time where everyone is busy, and few of us know one person who is rested.

This way of modern life is unsustainable.

And yet…most of us feel shame when we rest.

Our self-worth is often tied to output.

We feel we have to earn time off.

We only know ourselves in the story of “doing.”

Striving, hustling and busy.

Most people do not know what rest looks like.

We have forgotten the art of “being.”

We need a new RESTED way.

A way that honors slowing down and laying down.

A way that supports our wise and wild selves.

A softer way - that is also viewed as strong.

A gentle way.

And we need Rest Guides to lead the way.

That’s where you come in.

Ever sit with a client or offer a program and…

…wish you had a way to help people feel deeply rested?

…feel a little embarrassed telling people to rest when you’re exhausted?

…would love offer a transformational deep rest practice that helps people feel calm, peaceful and vibrant - and does the same for you?

Introducing…

ONLINE & Sisterhood

This training is online so women all over the world can take the training from the comfort of their home. (Study with us in bed, if you’d like). We’ve been training women online to become Daring to Rest Facilitators for seven years; we know online learning can be transformational, and that you will make lifetime Rest Sister connections with other women around the world who share a passion for the power of rest.

Who is this training for?

You are a woman who believes rest matters, and that when people are rested their households are more rested too.

You believe ‘busy and tired’ is becoming the norm, know this is unhealthy, and you want to play a part in doing something about it.

You know that when one person becomes rested they influence the next generation, and you want to help people break the cycle of fatigue and claim a rested legacy.

Whether you’re a complete novice or already trained in yoga nidra, this training will meet you where you are and support you to gain confidence to create rest-centered offerings.

Each year we welcome women around the world from a wide-range of backgrounds that include wellness practitioners, therapists, yoga teachers, yoga nidra teachers, bodyworkers, nurses, life coaches, reiki practitioners, teachers, and mindfulness coaches.

Many women who join us have no previous experience - they simply believe in the power of rest.

(We also have many trained yoga nidra teachers join us who want to learn our Daring to Rest™ method & feminine leadership perspective)

Testimonials

This program exceeded my expectations. Before I took the program, I noticed a lot of my clients were unable to reach their health goals because they were exhausted and didn’t have capacity. Helping people to feel rested feels like it gets at the foundation of the problem. I am now creating a well-rested world one woman at a time.
— Hester Kohl Brooks, Sisterhood 6

All women who come to my practice are exhausted from their lives. I have this deep wish to give them the possibility to rest. To make space for rest. Because rest is so healing. This training gave me the skills to do this. It has enriched my life on a very deep level.
— Silke Maria Schaffer, Sisterhood 7

“It takes courage to say yes to rest and play in a culture where exhaustion is seen as a status symbol.”

Brené Brown

We have a book to help you teach.

Daring to Rest founder, Karen Brody’s book, “Daring to Rest: Reclaim Your Power with Yoga Nidra Rest Meditation” is an ideal guidebook to use in your rest programs or rest coaching sessions.

It is the only rest and yoga nidra book written exclusively to help women rise up rested.

Yoga nidra is a transformational sleep practice and state of consciousness that has been proven to rest your brain and increase your creativity, ability to learn, reduce stress, feel calm and fall asleep easier.

You will practice yoga nidra throughout this training and learn how to teach it to others in phase two of the training.

Praise for the book Daring to Rest

“Karen Brody has put together a framework that makes yoga nidra relevant and accessible to 21st-century women, who may need the practice more than any previous generation. If you feel overwhelmed by living, the techniques in Daring to Rest are a good place to start your journey back to well-being.”

— Sharon Salzberg, author of Lovingkindness and Real Love

Why Women Join This Program

I joined this training to say YES to ENOUGH with the depleted un-rested woman! As a dentist it is so apparent that not having to access deep rest is making the world sick and it is breaking my heart that people do not know about yoga nidra - a simple, easy, and profound way to access to rest.
— Diana Lui, Canada

I joined this training to ignite this movement of rest and self-care in urban cities around the Southeast Asia region where I live, incorporate the element of rest into my current forest therapy work and support this work of empowering women.
— You Min Yap, Sinapore, Sisterhood 5

Imagine…

AFTER THIS TRAINING

Bring the power of rest into your work

You may wish to offer rest programsin many different areas, such as health and wellness, corporate wellness, parenting, life coaching, and healing. You can use our highly customizable Daring to Rest framework and begin teaching Daring to Rest programs, such as our popular 40-Day and 21-Day Daring to Rest Programs. Or not use our framework and simply weave rest into your current work if you’re a yoga instructor, life coach, breathworker, bodyworker, or therapist – anything that involves a journey to self-discovery and personal growth. The landscape of rest is vast, and you will be taught tools to start your own rest practice or weave into your current work.

Be a part of a much needed rest revolution

We are living in unrested times. It can feel overwhelming to know how to make a difference. Many of us want to help our clients feel more rested and create a rested household, but do not know where to start. Rest is a powerful and much-needed way you can create change.

When you offer rest to someone you often empower them to be the first in their family line to be rested.

The time is now for us to lie down and wake up.

Testimonials

I have found the training to be much deeper and more comprehensive than what I expected - and have loved the fact that it sees rest as a much broader field than the act of lying down in yoga nidra. Placing rest in the larger context of what it means for women has been so illuminating and invaluable. The training feels so complete.

What comes to mind as I reflect on the training overall, is the permission to live more slowly, to prioritise deliciously resting, to hold myself and to be held tenderly in a beautiful bubble, away from the outside world during our shared time in live classes. The sisterhood and tender container were so healing, beautiful, and I felt so held. Having this space to rest and be was a gift.

Since the training I have been integrating yoga nidra into my existing offerings: working with women to cope with stress, burnout and anxiety - and find serenity within themselves in a chaotic world, as well as integrating yoga nidra in my somatic leadership for women programme as a beautiful doorway to awaken our feminine power.

I have also designed a standalone Daring to Rest yoga nidra programme called Unhurried. It is an invitation for women to live unhurried lives in a fast-paced world.
— Isabelle Griffith, Founder of The School of Somatic Leadership for Women, Sisterhood 8

This training was the greatest gift I have given to myself in years.

While I am a yoga teacher, deep inside I was afraid of relaxing...of doing nothing. I felt a deep longing for rest, but I didn’t allow myself to rest. There was so much shame. There was the idea in my family line that rest is dangerous and makes you so lazy, that you can’t take care of yourself anymore, and that you will loose everything you own, until you die.

In the facilitator training I healed my relationship to my ancestor lines and the exhaustion of the women. The relationship with my mother and my sister improved. I found a new less exhausting way to work with the neurodiverse children, my relationship to my husband and to my best friend relaxed. I am not afraid anymore that something bad will happen when I rest. I give myself permission to rest. My life has changed in so many ways, while resting, nourishing myself, taking care of myself and being the good friend to myself that I needed.
— Steffi Meyl, Sisterhood 9

Karen Brody

Creator & Teacher Trainer, Daring to Rest Facilitator Training

Karen Brody is a rest coach & facilitator, author, mother, and founder of the Daring to Rest community. She is the author of "Daring to Rest," the only yoga nidra book supporting women to claim their power through deep rest.  She shares rest practices that weave women's empowerment, yoga nidra, meditation, embodiment, writing, and self-inquiry into experiences that invite women to rise up rested. Inside the Daring to Rest Facilitator & Certification Program, Karen has trained hundreds of women around the world to share the message of rest in their unique ways. She is also the host of the Daring to Rest Podcast where she interviews guests and talks about the landscape of rest and women leadership. Karen has been practicing and teaching about the power of rest for two decades, and has raised her now adult children on rest.

In 2003 she was having severe panic attacks, parenting two small children (one neurodivergent with high needs), and felt completely burnt out. Two years later everything changed. How? Karen discovered yoga nidra and the power of rest. From that moment on she has been passionate about helping people rise up rested, particularly women who often have throughout history experienced systems of female oppression that create obstacles to a rested life. The good news? Having now taught thousands of women to dare to rest, Karen is certain that changing the world with rest is possible and exactly what is needed in these times.

Learning from Karen and being in community with her feels like one of the biggest gifts of this program. She is wise and also a student of rest and life. I appreciate her so deeply!
— Ali, Sisterhood 9

Karen really knows how to hold a safe and caring space for all. She is gentle, warm and a delight to learn from. I really love her feminine style of leadership.
— Krista Resnick, Sisterhood 9

Shelagh is truly a rest fairy Godmother. She has held me, supported me, been a cheerleader and she has nurtured and guided me on so many levels. I feel like grateful is an insufficient expression of my appreciation and love for Shelagh.

To witness how she tenderly holds the space in Certification Lab, and supports each of us was so informative and beautiful. Shelagh balances her gentle and compassionate approach with tremendous knowledge and skill. We were so blessed to have her guidance and experience.

Firstly, this training is much more than a yoga nidra teacher training. You will be immersed in the landscape of rest and receive many tools to work with people to help them become rested.

Secondly, all yoga nidra trainings give a different perspective, and we expect ours will too. Taking more than one yoga nidra training helps you find your yoga nidra style.

Daring to Rest is different from most other yoga nidra teacher trainings because we are more a feminine leadership and empowerment training that includes yoga nidra as a core practice that you will learn to teach. We teach you the history of yoga nidra, and have a deep respect for its roots, but this training is not yoga-focused. It is more leadership and empowerment focused.

You will benefit from learning a method that's based on a book you can use immediately to diversify your offerings and expand your reach. Also, when you join us you'll be a part of a life-long community of women who are passionate about changing the world with rest. You'll receive personal and professional development to support your evolution as a teacher and as a Rested Woman.
