A transformational certification program for women called to lead through rest — where you’ll learn to practice, teach, and embody the Daring to Rest method and yoga nidra, the deepest rest imaginable.

To the woman who believes in the power of rest — who wants to dare to rest for herself and share it with others…

We’re living in a time where everyone is busy…
and it’s rare to meet even one person who is truly rested.

You know this in your own life.
And you see it in the lives of those you serve.

The people who come to you are bone-deep exhausted.
They don’t know how to step off the hamster wheel of urgency, busyness, and over-doing.
Their bodies ache for stillness.
Their minds are anxious, scattered, and weary.

In a world that glorifies the grind, most people have forgotten how to rest — and it touches everything: relationships, parenting, work, happiness.

You know they need rest.
And, quietly, you know you do too.

Certified Daring to Rest Facilitator Karen Perro setting up her consistently sold-out Healing Hammocks rest program in Nova Scotia.

Imagine leading through rest

Imagine coaching others…
facilitating retreats…
or creating healing spaces where you offer deep rest as medicine.

And imagine living this way yourself —leading and loving from a place that is more alive, resilient, rooted, and rested.

This is the heart of the Daring to Rest Facilitator Training for Women.

Most people don’t know how to slow down. The world is desperate for deep rest.

You are warmly invited to become a leader who models another way - a rested way.

I am grateful for the depth and integrity of this training. It was truly everything I hoped it would be and more. I came away feeling supported, seen, and inspired. Not just as a facilitator, but as a woman learning to live and lead with rest at the centre.
— Melissa Field, Sisterhood 10

A transformational certification program in rest leadership — designed for women who believe in the power of rest and feel called to share it with others.

In this training, you’ll journey through both the inner and outer rest work it takes to become a true Rest Leader.
You’ll slow down. You’ll rest deeply. You’ll rediscover what it means to live and lead with softness, strength, and rest.

You’ll also learn how to guide others into this same deep rest — using the Daring to Rest framework and yoga nidra, the most transformational rest practice we know.

Whether you’re a coach, teacher, healer, therapist, creative, or leader, this training helps you confidently weave rest into your existing work and create your own rest-centered programs, retreats, or offerings that bring both impact and income.

It’s more than a certification.
It’s a homecoming — to yourself, your purpose, and a way of leading that honors deep rest as the foundation for everything.

A Global Rest LEADERSHIP Experience — from the Comfort of Your Home

This training is fully online — so women all over the world can join us, no matter where they live. (Yes, you can study with us in bed — pajamas welcome.)

For over a decade, we’ve been guiding women into rest leadership online, and we know this: virtual learning can be deeply transformational. You’ll not only dare to rest and learn to teach others how to dare to rest, you’ll form lifelong connections with women across the globe who share your devotion to rest as a revolutionary act.

We honor the reality that women lead full, complex lives — and that time zones differ. You are not required to attend every live class. Many women have completed this training asynchronously with great success. Between our live circles, you’ll stay supported and connected through our vibrant private community — a space that feels like a global rest sanctuary.

A Welcome Message from Karen Brody, founder of Daring to Rest

Become a Daring to Rest Facilitator

Is this for you?

This training is for the woman who feels rest is the missing piece — for herself, and for those she serves.
She feels the pull to go deeper.
To experience and share the kind of rest that restores the body, quiets the mind, and awakens the soul.
She senses that this work — daring to rest deeply — is part of her next chapter.

This program exceeded my expectations. Before I took the program, I noticed a lot of my clients were unable to reach their health goals because they were exhausted and didn’t have capacity. Helping people to feel rested feels like it gets at the foundation of the problem. I am now creating a well-rested world one woman at a time.
— Hester Kohl Brooks, Sisterhood 6

A Book to Support Your Journey

We draw from Daring to Rest: Reclaim Your Power with Yoga Nidra Rest Meditation by Daring to Rest founder Karen Brody — the only rest and yoga nidra book written to help women rise up rested.

Throughout the training, you’ll use this book as both inspiration and a practical guide to create your own rest-centered offerings.

Throughout the training, you’ll experience yoga nidra — the transformational rest practice at the heart of the book — and learn to confidently share it with others.

Karen Brody has put together a framework that makes yoga nidra relevant and accessible to 21st-century women, who may need the practice more than any previous generation. If you feel overwhelmed by living, the techniques in Daring to Rest are a good place to start your journey back to well-being.

After the Training: Bring Daring to Rest Into Your Life and Work

Professional Transformation: Bring the Power of Rest Into Your Work

Graduates have brought Daring to Rest into spaces supporting health challenges, burnout, and life’s most demanding seasons — parenting, menopause, divorce, addiction recovery, and career change.

One graduate — a pediatrician — created a Rested Healer talk for doctors and presented it at the American Academy of Pediatrics annual conference. Leadership coaches have introduced rest programs in corporate spaces. Therapists and coaches are integrating yoga nidra into private sessions. Healers are combining yoga nidra with their creative offerings, offering deep rest and soul collage. Women’s wellness practitioners are offering retreats and rest programs for women. Academics are bringing rest to universities through student programs and faculty trainings.

Wherever you feel called to lead, rest belongs.

Personal Transformation: A Homecoming to Yourself

This training doesn’t just change how you lead — it changes how you live.

As you journey through deep rest, you’ll begin to release layers of exhaustion and return to your natural rhythm. You’ll feel more grounded in your body, clearer in your choices, and more connected to what truly matters.

Many women tell us that a softer, steadier, rested way of living continues to unfold long after the training ends.

It’s our joy to support you as you bring the power of rest into your own life — and the lives of those you serve.

This training has completely transformed the way I see the world, approach my everyday life and the way I see my work.

When it comes to rest and the impact it’s had on my work in the world, it has been so incredible enlightening and expansive to weave rest into my work in the women’s health space. It feels like I was weaving with fibers going only one way before and that now rest has provided the fibers to weave in the opposite direction, building an entirely new texture and strength to my work textile. It again, feels like rest was the missing element that has shifted everything.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you, I cannot wait to step further and further into the frequency of rest the remainder of my life.
— Nicole Frederiksen, Sisterhood 10

Meet Karen

Karen Brody

Daring to Rest Founder & Lead Teacher Trainer

Greetings!

I am excited you are thinking about joining the Daring to Rest Facilitator Training.

I’ve been on a mission for decades now to train women to become rest leaders. To me, it’s ideal women’s work: we get to experience the rest medicine we offer, deliver it to others, dismantle toxic grind culture, and build the world we want to live in.

If you’re here wondering about entering Sisterhood 11, then I know you are a rest curious woman. You get that rest is a universal prescription we all need right now in a very tiring world and you want to offer it to others - while also offering it to yourself. All of this - and much more - is part of the Daring to Rest Facilitator Training.

Please do reach out to me if you have any questions. I’m here to help you determine if this program is a right fit.

If you feel called to add transformational deep rest to your work and life, then I hope you’ll join us inside the Daring to Rest Facilitator Training.

We will help you dare to rest and pass on the gift of rest to others.

Here’s to a rested world,

xo

Karen

  • Raised in wonderful and deeply unrested household, Karen experienced firsthand how an unrested mother and high needs brother creates a consistent tone of urgency and depletion.  As a result she suffered from severe panic attacks and anxiety.

Her experience with disordered rest led her to a lifelong interest in women’s empowerment and getting a masters degree in Women and International Development from the Institute of Social Studies at Rotterdam University in The Netherlands. After graduation, she worked as a community organizer on women’s empowerment initiatives and struggled with the constant pressure to overwork until she left her job, retreated to a remote cabin in the woods, and began the untangling of her relationship with rest.

In her thirties, now with two preschool age children, she discovered the deeply restorative practice of yoga nidra. The first time she laid down to rest in a yoga nidra practice, she thought: rest is empowerment. This is the kind of power I want to lead from. Every woman on the planet needs this.

Soon thereafter, Karen began to develop her rest work and she has since become a leading voice on rest and women’s leadership. Her work offers a unique voice in the growing movement to dismantle burnout and reclaim inner authority. She is not only a rest advocate, but a guide for women seeking to live in deep integrity, connected to their wisdom and power. She is the founder of Daring to Rest, a global platform that has helped tens of thousands of women reclaim rest as a tool for healing, empowerment, and change.

Her book, Daring to Rest: Reclaim Your Power with Yoga Nidra Meditation (Sounds True, 2017), has become a foundational text in women’s rest and leadership circles. She has professionally trained over 500 women across 20+ countries to become rest leaders using two frameworks: Daring to Rest and The Rested Path. She leads a vibrant online community supporting women to become rested through programs as well as through hosting The Daring to Rest Podcast.

Karen’s work has been featured in The Huffington Post, MindBodyGreen, Spirituality & Health, and Yoga Journal, and she has been a speaker at conferences focused on women’s health, leadership, parenting, and rest.

Karen believes that when women reclaim rest and their voices, they don't just heal -they lead. And that is how we begin to change the world.

Karen now knows the difference it makes when a home carries the tone of rest. And she  knows how to teach women this tone in order to break cycles of fatigue in their lineage and help them cultivate rest in every aspect of their lives. With more than twenty years spent daring to rest, Karen is the proud mother of two young adult sons raised on rest and lives in Santa Fe, NM.

Learning from Karen and being in community with her feels like one of the biggest gifts of this program. She is wise and also a student of rest and life. I appreciate her so deeply!

  • Yes. All replays will be available within 24-hours after a session ends - and often sooner.

  • Yes. Every live session is available as a replay for you to listen to anytime. Material is available until January 1 2027.

  • The amount of time needed is different for everyone. However, the minimum requirements typically require 4 hours of your time per week. (This does not include your personal rest practice of yoga nidra and other rest-based practices).

  • We strongly encourage women already trained in yoga nidra to join us.

Firstly, this training is much more than a yoga nidra teacher training. You will be immersed in the landscape of rest and receive many tools to work with people to help them become rested.

Secondly, all yoga nidra trainings give a different perspective, and we expect ours will too. Taking more than one yoga nidra training helps you find your yoga nidra style.

Daring to Rest is different from most other yoga nidra teacher trainings because we are more a feminine leadership and empowerment training that includes yoga nidra as a core practice that you will learn to teach. We teach you the history of yoga nidra, and have a deep respect for its roots, but this training is not yoga-focused. It is more leadership and empowerment focused.

You will benefit from learning a method that's based on a book you can use immediately to diversify your offerings and expand your reach. Also, when you join us you'll be a part of a life-long community of women who are passionate about changing the world with rest. You'll receive personal and professional development to support your evolution as a teacher and as a Rested Woman.

  • Refund Policy: If you need to cancel your spot, you can receive a refund minus a 30% administration fee for one week after you enroll. After 7 days, there are no refunds.

These refund terms also apply to payment plans. Choosing a payment plan means you agree to pay the entire payment plan.

Refund requests must be in writing and include your name, a detailed account giving the reason you wish to withdraw, and why you feel a refund should be issued.

  • You will have access to our portal until January 2027.

  • Certification Requirements

    • Attend live or watch the recordings of all live sessions.

    • Lead one live yoga nidra experience in your online Certification Lab.

*While we would prefer you lead yoga nidra inside the Certification Lab, we understand it is not always possible and can make an exception to submit a yoga nidra recording to your certification mentor.

    • A short essay or audio on your rest story and why you are passionate about sharing the message of rest.

    • Read the book Daring to Rest: Reclaim Your Power with Yoga Nidra Meditation by Karen Brody

    • Complete the short reflection questions for Modules 1-5.

All certification materials must be submitted by October 15, 2026.

  • We get it - professional trainings are an investment. Here are your options if you have limited income.

    1. Choose a payment plan option available to help lower the immediate financial pressure. If you need a longer payment plan click here to contact us. We will work with you.

    2. We offer three partial scholarships. You can learn more and apply for a scholarship here. The scholarship deadline is November 19, 2025.

While we encourage being bold and taking a leap of faith if you feel called to join us, we do not encourage joining us if you are not able to pay your monthly expenses.

  • No. There are lots of women who take this training and work with people of all genders. Every Daring to Rest program can be tailored to women, men, children, and non-binary folks.

  • Maybe. Most women who take this training want to teach, but some love the topic so much that they want to take this training for the advanced teachings and personal rest transformation. There is no requirement to teach. First rest, then teach when or if you want to.

Praise from our Alumni Facilitators

I have attempted other teacher training programs before, mainly focused on somatic practices, and was never able to complete them. I applaud Karen for creating a program that’s both very deep but also practical to learn from. I also think Karen does an amazing job of creating a safe, supportive space to be part of the learning journey. I am deeply appreciative of being part of this program and this work.
— Cheri, Sisterhood 10
I appreciate the depth and breadth of this training, and the ongoing vibratory message that “rest is revolution”, which has the potential to not only increase our own personal wellbeing and access to our inner well-spring, but also influence and affect our relationships with each other and the world for the better.
— Liz, Sisterhood 8
This training was the greatest gift I have given to myself in years.

While I am a yoga teacher, deep inside I was afraid of relaxing...of doing nothing. I felt a deep longing for rest, but I didn’t allow myself to rest. There was so much shame. There was the idea in my family line that rest is dangerous and makes you so lazy, that you can’t take care of yourself anymore, and that you will loose everything you own, until you die.

In the facilitator training I healed my relationship to my ancestor lines and the exhaustion of the women. The relationship with my mother and my sister improved. I found a new less exhausting way to work with the neurodiverse children, my relationship to my husband and to my best friend relaxed. I am not afraid anymore that something bad will happen when I rest. I give myself permission to rest. My life has changed in so many ways, while resting, nourishing myself, taking care of myself and being the good friend to myself that I needed.
— Steffi Meyl, Sisterhood 9
Karen’s work, Daring to Rest, this training, have changed my life in so many ways. I approach my life and leadership from a Rest Perspective, now and forever. A million thank you’s.
— Jenny Weston, Sisterhood 7
I have found the training to be much deeper and more comprehensive than what I expected - and have loved the fact that it sees rest as a much broader field than the act of lying down in yoga nidra. Placing rest in the larger context of what it means for women has been so illuminating and invaluable. The training feels so complete.

What comes to mind as I reflect on the training overall, is the permission to live more slowly, to prioritise deliciously resting, to hold myself and to be held tenderly in a beautiful bubble, away from the outside world during our shared time in live classes. The sisterhood and tender container were so healing, beautiful, and I felt so held. Having this space to rest and be was a gift.

Since the training I have been integrating yoga nidra into my existing offerings: working with women to cope with stress, burnout and anxiety - and find serenity within themselves in a chaotic world, as well as integrating yoga nidra in my somatic leadership for women programme as a beautiful doorway to awaken our feminine power.

I have also designed a standalone Daring to Rest yoga nidra programme called Unhurried. It is an invitation for women to live unhurried lives in a fast-paced world.
— Isabelle Griffith, School for Somatic Leadership for Women, Sisterhood 8

Why Women Joined the Daring to Rest Facilitator Training Program

I joined to ignite this movement of rest and self-care in urban cities around the Southeast Asia region where I live, incorporate the element of rest into my current forest therapy work and support this work of empowering women.
— You Min Yap, Sinapore, Sisterhood 5

I joined to say YES to ENOUGH with the depleted un-rested woman! As a dentist it is so apparent that not having to access deep rest is making the world sick and it is breaking my heart that people do not know about yoga nidra - a simple, easy, and profound way to access to rest.
