Your experience includes three yoga nidras delivered live on Zoom, writing time, and three Salons to listen to our rested voices. All circles are led by Daring to Rest founder, Karen Brody.
The primary invitation is to dare to rest with yoga nidra. Writing (or any creative endeavor) is optional. You can come for just the rest and see what happens. This program is about letting whatever experience happen, not making it happen.

A woman must be careful to not allow over-responsibility (or over-respectabilty) to steal her necessary creative rests, riffs, and raptures. She simply must put her foot down and say no to half of what she believes she "should" be doing. Art is not meant to be created in stolen moments only.”
For forty days, you will be invited to practice yoga nidra, a transformational sleep practice. During yoga nidra you are guided from your waking state to dreaming to deep sleep and beyond, to a supremely relaxed state of consciousness where deep healing and restoration resides.
This deep rest practice has been proven to rest your brain and increase your creativity, ability to learn, reduce stress, feel calm and fall asleep easier.
To practice, all you do is lie down, listen to a voice guiding you into the state of yoga nidra. (You can sit if you want to - the point is to be in any position that feels comfortable).

All live online gatherings take place on Tuesdays at 10am Mountain Time
❍ 3 Live 90 minute Rest, Write, Heal Circles with Karen - 1 hour of rest + 30 minutes of time to explore your rested and creative self. Each circle will include a writing prompt, but you can tend to any creative impulse
❍ 3 Live 90 minute Rested Voice Salons: We’ll read our work together - one woman’s writing is often medicine for others.
❍ 3 Daring to Rest Yoga Nidras delivered live in our Rest, Write, Heal Circles (approximately 30 minutes)
❍ 3 optional short rest practices (between 5-10 minutes)
❍ A 40-day tracker to record your Daring to Rest journey
❍ Optional participation in our Facebook group for support and connection in between live sessions.
❍ Replays will be available for all live gatherings. Listen live or later.
❍ Program content is downloadable and available in our portal for three months.
❍ A cozy space to rest. This could be a bed, couch, floor, chair, outside in nature if it’s warm, or really anywhere.
❍ Device like your smartphone or iPad to listen to yoga nidra. (Downloadable for 3 months)

Hi! I’m a mother, founder of Daring to Rest, author of the book Daring to Rest, and host of the Daring to Rest Podcast.
I raised my two boys - now 23 and 25 years old - on rest, and I have been a rest coach for decades.
Over-working was literally killing me. I was helping others all the time but never myself. (Sound familiar?). After a few PhDs in burnout I started learning how to do my life differently…to be the first women in my generation to dare to rest.
After decades of panic attacks, I finally decided to rest when I was on my third year of taking anxiety medication. I had never heard of yoga nidra when I walked into a yoga studio and saw 25 women lying down practicing yoga nidra and looking like they were having the best nap of their lives. I was not a napper and could not imagine making space in my busy day to rest - but I was tired. I knew exhaustion all too well. So, I signed up to take a weekly yoga nidra class. The first time I went to class it felt like I had been at a spa for a month. I was immediately hooked on rest.
I have now been a yoga nidra teacher for seventeen years and I have trained women to become yoga nidra teachers for eight years through the Daring to Rest™ Facilitator Certification Program. I also teach The Rested Path™ Coach Training for professionals who want to help people create a rested life. I love bringing women together in rest sisterhood , whether it’s for personal rest or to professionally share it with others.
To me, rest is the obvious antidote for our crazy busy modern times.
I was a mom raising a son who had significant learning differences. The first year he barely slept so I barely slept. The second year, it was clear he was spirited so we cleared the house of everything he could destroy. The third year, we discovered he had speech and language issues. At twelve he did not read or write fluently. I spent years caught in a cycle of fatigue that felt impossible to break.
One evening after my husband came home when my boys were around six and eight years old I handed them to my husband at our front door, left the house and drove to the edge of our neighborhood.
There I sat in my minivan hysterically crying and screaming - like a caged animal. Eventually I became silent for a long time.
Silence felt like an unexpected gift. Just a little bit of rest like this made it clear to me that I did not need another bike ride or chat with a girlfriend or talk with a therapist.The solution to my exhaustion was rest. Rest became my top priority.
I immediately drove home and set up what I called my “rest cave” in our basement next to all the storage boxes and decided to practice yoga nidra every day in my rest cave for one year. I made it forty days.
In those forty days everything changed. My skin cleared up. My energy returned. I felt motivation and more like me again. I started enjoying motherhood. I wondered: how in forty days could I go from worn out to rested without even trying?
I wanted every person on the planet - and especially mothers - to experience this kind of rest medicine. Less than a year after lying down for forty days I got trained in yoga nidra and started teaching forty day yoga nidra rest programs to mothers.
Seventeen years later I still teach this 40 day program once a year because I know it will make a difference in your life. I’ve led thousands of women through this program.
Women heal their nervous systems…start writing that book they have been resisting…meet a person in the program who becomes a Rest Sister for life.
This is not just a program - it’s a movement of women united in Daring to Rest.

No problem. All recordings will be available in our online portal within 24-hours after a session ends.
We cannot guarantee how each person's like will change as a result of this program. What we can say is that Karen and the special guests will support you to feel supremely rested and get clear, start or finish a creative project. You will learn how to write from a place of "being" not from that hyper over-productive exhausting "doing" mode.
Everything is downloadable and you'll have three months of access to the materials in our online portal.

You're a great fit! The core practice throughout the 40 days is yoga nidra - deep transformational rest.
Absolutely. Newbie resters are welcome. All you do is lie down (or sit) and do nothing while listening to Karen's voice guide you into the state of yoga nidra. No experience is necessary.
Karen will not be doing individual coaching during this program, ecept for a few spotlight coaching moments. This is a group program. We cannot guarantee you get personal attention, and Karen won't be available to give specific feedback on a person's writing.
This program is for people who identify as a woman. Please check in with us if you feel called to take this program and you're not sure you'll feel comfortable.
First, reach out to us. We always do a sliding scale for women who feel called to attend this program.
Also, a great way to start Daring to Rest on your own is to get the book, Daring to Rest: Reclaim Your Power with Yoga Nidra Rest Meditation by Karen Brody. The book takes you through our 40-day program. Look for it at your local library or purchase it. Lots of women do the Daring to Rest 40-day program this way. The book comes with three free yoga nidras recorded by Karen.
The Daring to Rest Facilitator Training is a professional certification program that trains you to teach yoga nidra and an approach to leadership that puts the feminine and rest at the center. Everyone in the training takes this 40-day program as the first step in our training. If you know you want to take the training, don't sign up for this program. Enroll in the facilitator training. Having said that, if you are new to Daring to Rest you might want to enroll in the 40-day program first and then decide whether our facilitator training is right for you. Please note that we cannot guarantee spots will be available at the end of the 40-day program. If you have questions, contact us.
Karen teaches the Daring to Rest 40 Day Program only once per year in January.

Daring to Rest does not offer refunds to the 40 day Daring to Rest program. We try to be completely transparent on this enrollment page so you know what we are offering when you sign up.
